Make sure you always check your state board of pharmacy website for the latest updates in pharmacy law. State by state the board of pharmacy has different laws and regulations. For instances the pharmacy law in the state of California may differ from the law in the state of Texas. Regardless, these can be found on your state board of pharmacy website very easy access.
Pharmacy is a highly regulated profession. In a nutshell pharmacy law is all about the current legal logistics of pharmacy. For example, “how long is the pharmacy able to hold a patient’s C2 medication before filling it?” This also includes laws according to changes in technology, and healthcare personnel.
Pharmacy law exam questions can be quite tough on a general level, because keep in mind, not only do pharmacy technicians have a level of pharmacy law they have to know for their scope of practice, but other pharmacy professionals such as pharmacist, pharmaceutical sales reps, etc. also have to know pharmacy law for their scope of practice.
So of course at each level of practice there are hard, and agonizing questions that will be presented to test your level of knowledge as a professional, so it’s to be expected.

You study materials for PTCB or ExCPT pharmacy law should consist of federal rules, laws, and guidelines. Make sure you don’t confuse state laws with federal because these are two totally different things. Federal laws apply to all states nationwide, and state laws are ‘more personal’ to the state.
